Routine Check Ups
Regular dental check help keep your teeth and gums healthy.
It’s important to be proactive about your dental health. Check ups help us identify any potential problem areas, that left untreated could turn into major problems.
During your check up couple different things happen. First we check for cavities. We take x-rays to be able to identify any cavities between your teeth. We also check for plaque build up and tarter. If you have plaque build up that is not removed it can harden and turn into tarter. Plaque and tater build up left untreated can lead to various oral diseases. Which is one reason why routine check ups are so important. During your check up we also check your gums. Checking the depth of space between your gums and teeth, looking for signs of gum disease. The last step of your dental visit will be having your teeth professionally cleaned, using special tools to remove plaque and tarter.
Be sure to take care of your teeth between cleanings. Brush your teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste. Don’t skip flossing!! Flossing is an important step to maintain healthy teeth and gums. Also, use a mouthwash to help control bacteria that could lead to plaque and tarter meanwhile keeping your breath fresh!
